We can now offer a variety of finishing options to meet your project requirements. These include several stainless steel polishing surface finishes along with our standard bead-blasted and pickled finish. Our finishing options are listed below. If you don’t see the finish you desire, please be sure to contact us to assess the feasibility of your request.
Finishing Capabilities
Our capabilities include being able to polish and finish any surface of our laser fused sections and flat products like plate and bar. These include profiles such as Angles, Channels, Beams, Tees, Flats and Custom Shapes. We have no surface size limitations for our polishing operations.

Bead Blasted & Pickled
Bead Blasted & Pickled
.
.
Our standard mill finish is created by micro bead blasting and pickling our laser fused sections and structurals. This finish is typically non-directional in appearance and has a uniform matte surface with low reflectivity.

#4 Finish
#4 Finish
A general-purpose, brushed finish imparted by 120-220 grit abrasive belts. This brushed finish has a linear, directional appearance parallel to the length of the laser fused section.
We offer the following #4 variations:
Commercial #4 : achieved with abrasive belts through 120 grit
True #4 : achieved with abrasive belts through 180 grit
Sanitary #4 (aka Dairy #4) : achieved with abrasive belts through 220 grit
Common end-uses: architectural, building/construction, manufacturing and fabrication.
Non-Directional Finish
Non-Directional Finish

Also known as an angel hair, vibration, or random orbital finish; a non-directional finish has a random orbital appearance as opposed to a linear brushed finish. Architects favor the non-directional finish because of its unique appearance and ease of rehabilitation in the field.

#6 Finish
#6 Finish
A finer brushed finish than a #4 finish imparted by 240-320 grit abrasive belts after successive passes with lower grit abrasive belts. Like a #4 finish, a #6 finish has a linear, directional appearance parallel to the length of the laser fused section. A #6 finish has a lower reflectivity than a #4 finish due to the finer grit lines imparted by the finer abrasive belts. Common end-uses: architectural, building/construction, food & beverage, pharmaceutical, environmental, and chemical.
RA Finishes
RA Finishes
A Roughness Average (RA) Finish is a specialty finish similar in appearance to brushed finishes except that RA Finishes are confirmed by measurement and tooling. RA Finishes can be measured and certified using a profilometer, which measures the average deviation of grit lines from an imaginary centerline to determine the surface’s smoothness. Engineers commonly request RA Finishes on our laser fused sections because the ultimate finish is not subjective but instead can be confirmed through tooling.
Common end-uses: pharmaceutical, food & beverage, chemical, oil & gas, and environmental.
#8 Mirror Finish
#8 Mirror Finish
The most reflective finish available on our laser fused sections. A #8 mirror finish is achieved through multi-step, successive fine grinding operations with abrasive belts through 800 grit followed by buffing operations. The ultimate look is that of a mirror but some underlying grit lines may be visible upon close inspection on structural products. Since the underlying grit lines are almost completely removed, there is no linear or brushed look on the laser fused section’s surface. Architects commonly request #8 mirror finishes on our laser fused section because of the finish’s reflectivity, beauty, flexibility, and durability.
