Stainless Structurals recognizes the importance of stainless I beams in the vast world of construction, engineering, architecture and structural steel. The steel beam has been a workhorse of the industry since 1849 when patented by Alphonse Halbou of the company Forges de la Providence. Like Mr. Halbou, Stainless Structurals is forging its own path in the industry with its stainless steel beams.
A New Method
Hot rolling mills such as Bethlehem Steel took Halbou’s method and streamlined steel beam manufacturing for the industry. We at Stainless Structurals are proud to be part of this history as well with our proprietary production method, ASTM A-1069; Laser Welding. As a stainless H-beams and I-beams manufacturer, we can provide a product that was once deemed impossible to produce as a monolithic piece of steel. By utilizing laser welding, Stainless Structurals offers stainless beams with full weld penetration up to one and a quarter inches! Just like the original patent for hot rolling I beams, Laser welding fills a gap in the market to provide beams up to 44” and domestic production up to 36” for those structurally demanding projects.
Workhorse of Industry
Thanks to the A-6 carbon platform, there are already numerous sizes and shapes of steel beams available. These shapes and sizes exist for structural purposes as the web resists shear forces while the flanges resist some to most of the bending forces experienced by the beam. In many cases, commodity sizes can work well and Stainless Structurals replicates the carbon sizes in stainless steel. However, have you ever needed to change the design of a project or use more material than needed for engineering purposes? That is where Stainless Structural’s stainless beam production comes into play.
Necessity Invites Innovation
Thanks to the production method of laser welding found under ASTM A-1069, Stainless Structurals can produce practically any shape needed for your application. Because the process involves two simple steps: laser cutting plate and laser welding plate, stainless I beams and stainless H beams can be offered with any web and flange lengths or thicknesses most suitable for application. What if you need a stronger web than 3/8”? No problem, bump it up to ½”! Or what if you can cut down on costs by reducing a flange’s overall length and thickness? Again, no problem! Stainless Structurals and laser welding finally have the solution to customize your stainless steel beams to YOUR specs and not the industry standard.
Custom Stainless Steel Beams and More
Our laser welded stainless I and H beams have proudly been serving the industry for the last decade. We plan to continue to make waves by offering a product on your terms. Whether that is a custom stainless I beam with extended flanges, a stainless beam with an extra thick web, or even an h beam with multiple thicknesses for a niche application, Stainless Structurals can produce the most suitable stainless steel beam for your needs and custom projects. No project is too big or small for us and no stainless beam is too unique for our incredible team to produce for you. We are your stainless steel beam manufacturer for commodity or custom sizes.
